I was looking for something under $30 that felt nice to the touch and wouldn't add too much weight to the Kindle. This did all that and more.
The cover is a black faux leather. It looks beautiful and feels great to the touch. It's slightly padded, giving the exterior a "squishy" feel. I find this actually makes it more comfortable to hold. (The red version, by the way, uses some sort of backpack type material for the exterior. Definitely doesn't feel as nice, though it might be a more durable material.)
The interior is covered in soft micro-fleece and is not padded. (The only down side the fleece is that it attracts animal fur very easily.) The Kindle sits in a hard plastic "case". It's a little awkward to insert the Kindle, but once it's in, it's not moving. All buttons (sides and key pad) are easily accessible, as well as the buttons on the bottom (you can recharge while using this case).
The stand seems sort of gimmicky at first, but comes in quite handy. It's great for the times you need your hands free. The only slightly annoying thing is the weight of the Kindle causes a slightly tilt to the right. (This doesn't do anything to stability, just thought I'd mention it.)
I guess the only negative thing about this is if you're using the Text-to-Speech it will be significantly muffled. Otherwise this was a great purchase and I'd recommend it to anyone in the market for Kindle Cover. :)

I purchased this Kindle cover from Target and it is just wonderful!
I had been using one of the covers that allow metal prongs to enter spaces on the Kindle edge, allowing it to be clamped into the cover. I had many problems with my Kindle freezing and not saving my place, etc. with the cover with the prongs.
The Spec is perfect! It holds the Kindle in place without violating the insides of it with metal prongs. I have had absolutely no problem with my Kindle freezing up since I have been using the Speck cover. I highly recommend it!

I picked this up at Target because it felt nice and was priced low. It holds the Kindle nicely. It is also good for if you keep a skin on your Kindle. There are very small clips that hold the Kindle in the case. You can easily enjoy the individuality of your skin. You can easily access all buttons. Headphones work well with it. I like that I can fold the cover back; it makes it feel more like a book. There is a little kick stand that flips out of the back. It is nice to use when reading in restaurants or at the table. It leans a bit to the right. I find that propping a pencil underneath it works to make it perfectly level. I read reviews of covers that have elastic that stretch out after use. There doesn't seem to be any parts that will damage with wear except one. I recently discovered that the kick stand has cardboard underneath the fabric. I learned this after a family member bent the cardboard. It makes reading at a table a bit harder. The product is well worth the price. I hope that Speck upgrades the kick stand before I buy my next one.
