Handsome, elegant leather-bound book look

A very rugged, rustic exterior reminds me of cowboy leather, and fully protects from scratches. I like the addition of the closing strap which ensures that the case doesn't open while in a purse or luggage, however it does take away from the aesthetic a bit. I'm also finding that it distracts me during reading, so I have been reversing it to the back while in use. All of the ports and buttons are accessible, and the travel pocket will hold airline tickets nicely. I found the new corner straps to be very secure once properly in place, but quite a hassle to initially position properly; in order to minimize (eliminate!) any keyboard obstruction, the designers went pretty tight on the tolerances, and on my device a strap or two is always right on the edge (see the photo I've uploaded). Out of the box (GREAT packaging, BTW) the leather is a bit stiff, and resists lying completely flat or folding back fully, but given some time, it will `learn' these positions as you break it in. As Octovo advises, the leather absorbs impact scuffs and weathering with charming distinction, and you shouldn't be surprised if your heavy use changes it's appearance daily. I found for example, that on folding the spine back to it's full open position, it lightened in color as it creased (See photo). I love the `old world' way the cover looks when paired with my decal/skin

If Hemingway had a Kindle, this would be his cover

As soon as I saw this cover, I had to have it. I've always been on the lookout for a cool looking kindle cover, to me most of the ones on the market are either too stodgy looking, or too girly. This cover is awesome. It blends the new technology of the kindle with an old world looking distressed leather. It comes out of the package looking like it is fresh out of a saddlebag, and only gets better with use. With day to day use the oils from your hands combine with nicks and dings to form a wonderful patina that almost makes this cover a living object, changing almost daily. It is stiff and relatively light, when the kindle is placed inside it isn't too heavy, it's almost a good weight, like you are holding on to something real. The elastic straps holding the kindle make the initial installation tough, but once installed it has a rock solid hold on the kindle, I can't even move it with my fingers. So in conclusion, if you are looking for a cover that looks like you are ready for a business meeting, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a cover that looks like you just finished backpacking through Europe or running with the bulls in Pamplona, this is your cover.

worth the wait

This is THE cover. Beautiful, light weight and the kindle is held very securely. The strap is great. I read with the front cover folded back and I just flip the strap over and it holds perfectly. The spine was stiff for one day and then became pliant. The whole cover looks, feels and smells expensive. It feels like the Kindle is glued in, so secure it doesn't wiggle around at all. One other thing, I have an Oberon cover and while it is beautiful, there is too much "edge" all around the Kindle. Oberon says this is for security, but to me it just seems sloppy and makes it less desirable. It is also stiff after many mos. of use. This cover is all marked up and scratched, just like a very old cover would be. For those liking something more traditional, Octovo has a black leather cover on their website that looks beautiful. I had a similar one from them for my Kindle 2 and I loved it!
